About Kim Rohac

DOCRUN is me, Kim Rohac. I'm the Run in DocRun, but not the idea. Interlibrary loan runners have existed for a long time.

In fact, while I was a student of the Library and Information Technician Program at Algonquin College in 1995 to 1997; I worked for just over a year as an interlibrary loan runner for the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

After that I went on to find my place in the library world. I worked in the Records Center at Mitel, then the Library at The Ottawa Sun, and then the library at The Ottawa Hospital - Civic Campus.

Of course there were a few short term contracts in there as well, such as The Canadian Child Care Federation Library, the Royal Ottawa Hospital Library, National Defense Medical Library, and Elisabeth-Bruyère Health Centre Library. Everywhere I went I found Libraries were faced with the same issues, one of them being where to find fast, affordable sources for ILLs.

There is a great 'science and technology' source in Ottawa, it has the right collection, but the wrong prices. And this is where I step in.

Welcome to DOCRUN!
